St. Louis -- October 27, 2003
Sirsi Corporation, the leader in new-name sales of technology for libraries around the world*, announced today a technology
partnership with Openly Informatics, Inc., the world's leading provider of linking software and services for OEM
distribution. Sirsi has selected Openly Informatics' OpenURL linking technology as the core engine for Sirsi Resolver,
Sirsi's solution for OpenURL resolution and linking. Offered as a standalone product and integrated with Sirsi Rooms
™ Context Management Solutions, Sirsi Resolver can be configured to work seamlessly with all of Sirsi's online
products including iBistro, iLink, Web2, and the new Sirsi SingleSearch. Using information provided by these searching
tools, the Openly engine powers Sirsi Resolver to provide deep-linking access to full-text content for tens of thousands of
journal articles and online services for books and all other bibliographic formats.
"We are delighted to be working with Sirsi, one of the best library system vendors in the world," said Eric Hellman,
president of Openly Informatics. "The OpenURL linking technology in Sirsi Rooms will help users click easily from one part
of the library to another, getting them the information they want and need."
"The technology and expertise that Openly provides are the best in the industry and give Sirsi customers the best solutions
for quickly gaining access to content and materials that they find through searching," said Mark Moorehead, Sirsi's director
of product management.
