If you have been been through the horror of dealing with old-economy landlords and trying to find the sort of space you need for a new company, you will appreciate that a good, responsive landlord with space available is hard to find.
We lucked out. We've been here for 6 years now. The building is in Bloomfield, NJ, just off GSP exit 148, a block from the NJ transit rail station and 2 NYC bus lines, and 2 blocks from a phone company central office. The building is now lighted with internet access from Intellispace. The owners of the company on the 3rd floor bought out the previous building owner and are building office space with shared reception, conference room and mail area. Pre-built suites are available for $600-1175 per month, plus electric. Cheap parking. Nice convenient area (a movie theater, grocery store, restaurants, library, post office, daycare and the highest concentration of nail salons on the planet are close).
Bloomfield is conveniently located for employees living in Hoboken, Manhattan, and the New Jersey suburbs of New York. It's just outside of Newark. The train station is just a block away, and the convenience has increased dramatically with the recent completion of NJ Transit's Montclair Connection. We now have service direct to New Yorks Penn Station- just a 25 minute ride away.
Here's some info from the building owner (we're NOT the landlord, just a happy tenant):
Details on Bloomfield:Town of Bloomfield is a very business oriented community and an excellent location to attract high quality employees because of its easy access to major roadways. I have had a business in Bloomfield since 1992 and have never had a problem recruiting people into the area. There are local colleges to recruit from for very inexpensive labor as well, (i.e. Bloomfield College, and Montclair State University.)
The local retail community is rallying behind an approved plan for a special improvement district grant (which Bloomfield Office Plaza is the center of) to change some of the traffic patterns to accommodate better shopping in downtown Bloomfield to compete with mall expansion in the area. The town has hired a community advocate to assist in the re-development plan and he is doing a great job.
NJ Transit has direct service to Bloomfield from Penn Station in Manhattan. The station is one block away from the office.
There are a number of restaurants open for lunch within two blocks, including a great mexican restaurant, as well as more casual dining such as Subway and Quiznos.
Sincerely,
Ariel J. Morales
